Santo Antão
LAGOA (LIM DE CORVO) – JOÃO AFONSO
The walk begins in the Lim de Corvo area, in the middle of the forest overlooking a stunning landscape and a very pleasant climate perfumed by the aroma of pine trees. During the tour it is possible to meet and interact pleasantly with residents who are dedicated to agriculture and livestock, you will come across endemic plants such as Tortolho, Lingua-de-Vaca, wild rosemary, Saião etc.
The Routes
Upon arriving at the village of João Afonso, you will be able to see the beautiful communities of Fajã dos Cumes and Fajã dos Bois, two communities known for the predominance of aromatic herbs. In the community of Fajã dos Cumes you can eat at D. Georgina ‘s house . In the community of João Afonso, you can taste locally produced sugarcane grog and, at harvest time, follow the production process. While you are with the women of the ADIJA Association, you can taste and/or participate in liqueur and sweet production workshops. To eat and sleep you can also go to the house of Dona Mimi, Dona Agusta Delgado and Senhor Cula Dias and Manuel Ribeiro.
