The routes

The approximately 4.6 km route is characterized by the presence of endemic plants and agriculture that alternate with an arid landscape. The path allows you to meet its inhabitants, engaged in agricultural work, the area is still inhabited by just 12 people.

In fact, the majority have moved to the community close to the road, where it is more comfortable and easier to live their daily lives. The old houses therefore became shelters for livestock or where to store the harvest during the year or simply camps to rest during work. Along the route, it will be possible to visit the old chapel of São José, observe the different endemic plants, spot wild monkeys and the red heron in its nesting area.
