Kamoka is a flour obtained by grinding roasted corn, which in Cape Verde is used as an alternative drink to coffee.
This laboratory, with the help of Dalila, will allow tourists to have a very typical experience, starting with grinding roasted corn in a manually powered stone mill. At the end it will be possible to taste the kamoka with water or milk, accompanied by typical Cape Verdean cookies.
Finally, it will be possible to take the prepared kamoka home and try new recipes, such as ice cream. Kamoka has medicinal characteristics, such as strengthening memory and helping to combat cholesterol.
This workshop will allow tourists to come into direct contact with a Cape Verdean family, understand their life, difficulties and resources.
