Ribeirão

Ribeirão is a community that until the beginning of the 1990s faced many difficulties related to the lack of access to water. In the 90s a reservoir was built which allowed the entire area to benefit from it and become famous for its fruit production.

In Ribeirão it is possible to meet the women of the AMI Ribeirão Association, who produce typical and traditional dishes, suitable for a snack or a tasting of completely homemade local products.

Couscous is prepared with corn flour cooked in boiling water and a little sugar. To give it shape, the bindi is used, a traditional instrument of Cape Verdean cuisine, made of baked earth and of different sizes.
