Before common medicine, carried out by doctors, there was traditional medicine carried out by healers. The former difficulty in finding medicines and consulting doctors has favored the transmission of the effects of herbs to this day, as always with great attention to quality and doses.
At Estância Roque, you can meet an elderly healer who shares her knowledge. People from all over the island come to purchase their 'medicines'. This workshop takes place outdoors, where you meet Maria and then go with her son on a journey of discovery of the medicinal plants of Estância Roque, unveiling the secrets of plants and the body.
This workshop will allow tourists to come into direct contact with a Cape Verdean family, understand their life, difficulties and resources.
